Fund raising started and plans were drawn up by Mr Whalley K U D C architect. By 1953 £1500 had been raised. New plans were made and approved by the Ministry of Education on 27th April 1954 and a grant of £1500 made towards the estimated cost of £4500 for phase 1. On the 28th May 1955 the large concrete framework was delivered and within a few days was erected.
