Every year 1st Saltford Scouts went on a summer camp This year (1965) it was to be Llangynidr in South Wales. Both Rob and I were going, this would be our second camp and we were to take the train from Bristol TM to Pontypool. As we pulled out of T M we noticed our fellow train enthusiast Andrew Butler in our normal Saturday train spotting spot next to “Days Road Signal Box” As we approached "Days Road Junction" we caught sight of the highlight of the day. A “Brit” or to the none initiated a “Britannia 4-6-2 class steam loco” on a Saturday special from Leeds. Could have been 70054 a regular on summer Saturdays during that year.
